Starting Your Dreams Later In Life and Embracing the Detour

Jenee Darden speaking at Creative Mornings I know it's been a while since I've posted anything but that's because of my job. I'm working as a reporter covering Oakland and I host an arts segment on the radio where I get to interview amazing artists from around the Bay Area. Plus I'm publicizing my book  and building my speaking career!  You know what's funny? I thought this would all happen by the time I was 27-30.  Nope. That wasn't God's plan for me. I'm finally beginning to do the things I've wanted to do and I'm almost 40 years old. Some people reading this who are 40 will say 40 is still young. But some younger people reading may think 40 is nearly ancient. But I'm writing this post for those who like me, thought their career and personal dreams would come true much early in life. I'm here to tell you not to give up.  You know, death inspires life. A number of my relatives and friends have passed away, ranging in

Girly-Girl Shopping Therapy with CoverGirl and P&G eStore

Someone asked me recently, what gets me in a good mood on a not-so-good day. One thing I do when I’m down is go shopping for makeup. I hit the CoverGirl aisle and stock up. There’s something about the colors and playing around with a different look that lifts my spirits. Today is one of those days where I need a mood boost. I spilled tea on my laptop this morning (not a good way to start off the day). Some girly-girl shopping therapy is much needed right now. It’s cold and rainy outside so I’m not in the mood to go to the store. But I have another option.

I’ll channel my inner favorite CoverGirls like Janelle Monae, Pink and Sofia Vergara and shop at the  P&G eStore. Right now I’m really feeling the Plum Berry shade (pictured) of the CoverGirl Outlast All Day Lipcolor.  I’ve been using CoverGirl for years and their plum shades always make me look extra fly. Plus the Outlast All Day Lipcolor will keep my lips extra plumy-licious for up to 16 hours. But that’s just one of 38 shades to choose from on the P&G eStore. When you scroll over each color, a really vibrant photo of the shade appears so you can pick the right color.

Aside for shopping from the comforts of your home, there are other perks to the P&G eStore. Here a few of their deals:
  • 15% off on a first-time order from a new customer, using promo code: A9Z-MN5-KY3-ISA
  • Free Shipping on orders over $25
  • Free Samples with every order.

For my fly coupon divas, you can use online coupons and mail-in rebates to get further discounts. I just did a search for CoverGirl coupons on the P&G eStore site and there were over 100.

Unfortunately CoverGirl’s products won’t fix my computer, but at least I’ll look cute in my CoverGirl lipstick and blush when I go to the computer repair shop and hear the prognosis. And if the prognosis is too bad, I may have to get a little pick me up on the P&G eStore and hit up CoverGirl’s eye shadow section. Their Smoky Shadow Blast is very tempting.
Wish me luck!
