I'm Speaking at Creative Mornings in Oakland!

UPDATE: Watch my speech below!

***Listen to my podcast about anxiety***

This Friday, Jan 26th I will be speaking about living with anxiety challenges and mental health for Creative Mornings. I HATE anxiety. Hate it. But my love for stopping mental health stigma by sharing my story is stronger. I'll also talk about facing our normal, everyday anxieties.

Registration opens this Monday at 11am. They go quick so make sure you sign up ASAP.

Fly Lady of the Day
Teen Pilot Kimberly Anyadike

Kimberly Anyadike is so fly because she can fly. The 15-year-old wonder became the youngest black woman to fly a plane transcontinentally. She left Compton, CA on June 29 for Newport Beach, VA. She was joined by another pilot and a Tuskegee Airman. Anyadike trained through Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum (TAM) in Compton. TAM has broken other youth pilot records. I met the founder a few years ago and he is very passionate. Go here to learn more about this organization. They really teach the kids that regardless of race and class, they can achieve sky high dreams and beyond.

We're proud of you Kimberly Anyadike. Keep soaring sista. Keep soaring.

  1. Hello-
I saw your comment on my blog and I just read your blog post!

I agree with everything that you have to say about interracial dating! For me, interracial dating wasn't really too much of a problem (considering that while I was growing up, my mother's boyfriend was white) but it's really crazy to see the other responses I get when people see me doing it! ESPESCIALLY since the majority of black men on the UCSD campus STAY dating interracially!!

Anywho- I hope you're enjoying yourself!

PS- That girl is so adorable! And talented!!!
